There is More to Rods Than you Realize

If you don't have a door on your shower, a shower rod and curtain are things you use every day. But, while they are often used, many people don't know much about them.

One of the things people don't realize is that shower rods are made from different materials. Shower rods can be made from plastic, nickel, brass, stainless steel, aluminum and even wood. There are pros and cons to each type of material, and learning about these pros and cons can help you determine which is right for you.

Another thing that people often overlook when it comes to rods is how they are made. Plastic rods and metal rods are made two completely different ways. Plastic is melted down, poured into a mold and allowed to harden to create a plastic rod. On the other hand, metal rods are made by taking a metal sheet, rolling it and then sealing the seam. When you learn how long and complex the process is, you may appreciate your shower rod even more.

Lastly, people who have never installed a shower rod may not understand how to install one. Installing it correctly prevents it from falling while you are opening or closing the shower curtain, so proper installation is a must. Luckily, it is not a challenging process, as long as you know what you are doing.

There is a lot to know about shower curtain rods. Reading about them can help you decide which type will work for you, how to install them, and how to make yours last.
